Gut Supplements vs Whole Foods - Take A Food First Approach!

We live in a day and age where greens powders are flying off the shelves and unfortunately the spinach at the back of our fridge is wilting. These products are marketed and sold with the overwhelming claims that they “improve gut health”, however… if we know that WHOLE FOOD diversity is a pillar stone for aiding good digestion and a strong immune system… then could replacing nutrient-rich plants in your diet for scoops of powder potentially be doing more harm than good?

Trust your gut… don’t powder it. Especially if something sounds too good to be true, like a scoop of greens being “equivalent to 100 fruits and vegetables”. Deep down we all know this will never be the case, so we encourage you to steer clear of the “gut tubs” and redirect yourself to the farmers market with a big basket instead!

Aim to regularly fill your bowls, plates, and tupperware containers with plenty of fruit, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, legumes, lean protein sources, seafood and dairy and a supplement cabinet is unlikely to be necessary!
