HAPPY HOLIDAYS! (Not anxious holidays)
Heads up: this post isn’t here to tell you how or what to eat on Christmas day. However, we are writing this to encourage you to be more family-focused than food-focused!
Christmas day often gets a bad rap when it comes to staying on track with your health and fitness goals. However let’s try and put this into perspective:
Christmas is only one day out of 365. Imagine if you were holding 365 one dollar bills and you decided to spend one dollar on an enjoyable experience (like Christmas!) Would you feel anxious as if you were in debt, or be happy with the fact that you still have $364?
Ultimately Christmas is about spending time with your loved ones and having a relaxing day of creating memories and exchanging heart-felt gifts! Sharing delicious food on the day is without a doubt something to also look forward to, but remember food is a huge aspect of any social occasion not just Christmas! Besides, from a caloric energy standpoint, you may have consumed more at the Mexican birthday party you attended two weeks ago, so don’t stress just because Santa’s in the chimney this time!
Enjoy your day in it’s entirety and try your best to be family-focused rather than food-focused
